Nicole & François, our friendly and helpful hosts at Chambre d'hôtes Carillon & Cadran had told us about the remarkable wash houses in Melle, so we took a very worthwhile detour. Here is the Lavoir de Loubeau. A washhouse existed here since 1793. Today´s structure dates to the early 19th century.
