This is a shot from yesterday, Sunday, Brewday. This is the mash, the malted barley held at a temperature of around 145° F. for an hour to convert the starches in to sugars. In about a week now, it will be beer ready to bottle or keg, 6 gallons of my White Nights Stout.

25 gallons of beer

This is 50 pounds (23 kg.) of 2 row malted barley, the base grain for many beers and ales. Enough gain to make around 25 gallons or 95 liters of beer. No, that's not dirt or dust visible on the container, it's barley flour. :-)
