Painted while listening to Leoš Janáček's Sinfonietta. I'd just finished reading Haruki Murakami's '1Q84' and Janáček's piece is intrinsic to the story. OK not really intrinsic but it's hauntingly woven in to and through the plot. Besides Sinfonieta, the story contains two moons, an assassin, little people and Air Chrysalis. Oh, and so does this picture,… -but Murakami presents and weaves them together far far better than I did here. If you haven't, I strongly recommend reading 1Q84, but don't look at the moon tonight, you may be in for a shocking surprise. Watercolors on Canson's XL recycled Bristol, 11 by 14 inch, paper.
