We just got back, late last night, from a weeks run around central Alaska, One of the (many) high points was stopping and walking (and sliding) around on Matanuska Glacier. Said glacier is about 30 miles long and, in places, 4 miles wide. We sat, about an hour or so, on the ice sketching. A nice cool break on a hot summer day!
