Today I took my tiny Japanese tour group (Kumiko) on a day trip up the Steese Highway and then back in to the White mountains along the Nome Creek trail. Right about at the tree line these little guys were growing.

From today's road trip up the Steese Highway. Hum I dated the picture wrong I did this today, 26 July not 25 July. Oh well... Watercolor and ink on 6 by 9 inch cold pressed.

At Wednesday's Fairbanks watercolor Society picnic & paintout these flowers caught my eye.
