The UK still has a smaller number of people employed in early 2022 than at the pre-pandemic peak in March 2020, a figure of approximately 0.6 million. The lockdowns were not the only factor having an affect on employment and the economy, but there have been a number of structural changes as a result of the pandemic - for example, the spread of "on-line" shopping. Only the economies of the USA & France were showing growth in tha third quarter of 2021, when compared to the last quarter of 2019.
