NSR23 - interior planks & external panels

Dry fitting the softwood planks that make up the interior at the outer end of the passenger section. Once removed these will be filled, knotted and primed, with the final finish will be medium oak scumble, protected by non-yellowing varnish. Progress is being made on fitting the exterior panelling (primed and grain-filled).

Partially completed the sapele beading over the oak faced panelling; note the level of shine / reflections from the many coats of varnish. This conceals the planking of the bulkhead separating the small third class compartment (for the servants) from the first class saloon. Also, note the repairs to the ceiling. . Much of this section of internal panelling has been replaced with appropriate timber (not plywood). Now fully installed after dry fitting.
