Lamp on the external end of C.13. The "Pairs" were two of the original 1873 4-wheel carriages mounted on steel underframes, running on bogies. F68 was formed from A9 and C13, as their underframe dates from 1909, it is likely that this was the first "pairing". It was withdrawn in the 1970s and then sold to the Phyllis Rampton Trust. After restoration, and being put onto 2ft gauge bogies it is now on display at Aberystwyth.

F68 was formed from A9 and C13, as their underframe dates from 1909, it is likely that this was the first "pairing". It was withdrawn in the 1970s and then sold to the Phyllis Rampton Trust. Interior of C13. I suspect that we are looking at varnished oak, and not scumble. Originally, Third class on the steam railway was not upholstered. The "Pairs" were two of the original 1873 4-wheel carriages mounted on steel underframes, running on bogies. F68 was formed from A9 and C13, as their underframe dates from 1909, it is likely that this was the first "pairing". It was withdrawn in the 1970s and then sold to the Phyllis Rampton Trust. After restoration, and being put onto 2ft gauge bogies it is now on display at Aberystwyth. [Compare with B1 half of F.62 or either half of F.63]

Coat of Arms for the Isle of Man Railway Company, looks like a proper transfer. Nice paint job ! Pairs carriage F.66, stood outside the carriage shed Douglas. Not in brilliant condition as it is before the rebuild took place & it still has the lower waist line beading [the repanelling etc was done about 1978]. A couple of other carriages / luggage vans in the background, and an 'M' series waggon. colour / summer 1977. . Not my image : fair use & public information

F63 outside at Douglas in mid February 2023, after being un-wrapped from the tarpaulins and protective layers applied in Haltwhistle for crossing the Irish Sea. For Info : B10 is the further ex-4-wheeler body. IIRC, some further work will be required to complete fitting the vacuum brakes. . . Not my Image : fair use & public information
