MSR[HI] : F.66 - at Port Soderick {c 1978}

15 Jun 2022 1 1 106
F66 at Port Soderick. Taken some time after 1978, when the steam railway was nationalised, as just after that event, F66 was partially rebuilt. Two main modifications are visible a) waistless style of panelling ie below the window line is one panel, not two as originally built. b) the vertical panel between the fixed windows has been reduced to the width of the frame upright - to give increased width to the windows. . . MSR[HI] : F.62 - at Port Erin, c1933

F62, taken at Port Erin about 1933. Both A1 & B1 have been downgraded to "Third" but the gap between them has not been enclosed. As far as can be estimated from a B&W image, the livery appears to be all one colour. MSR[HI] : F.56 - at Port Erin {? 1950s}

"Pairs" F56 at Port Erin, possibly in the 1950s, but after the "gap" was panelled over. [C8 to the left in this view] F56 was formed from A8 + C8 being mounted on the bogie underframe in 1924. The bodies were scrapped in 1968, the underframe was sold off [possibly to the 2ft gauge Festiniog Railway, Nth Wales]. Not my Image : Fair Use & public information
