cvd - Scottish case rates (May to July 2021)

12 Jul 2021 76
Scottish covid cases. These case rates shows the growth of huge peak at the end of June, most likely from the huge numbers of close social contacts whilst watching the "Euro" football matches which has pushed up cases of the 'Indian' variant over what would have been expected. Once there were enough cases within the community at large, the higher transmissibility has kept the case rate high, especially among the younger adults. . . . All UK nations and regions have "R" at or below 1.00, in practical terms, this should mean that case numbers should be decreasing. Not my Image ; Fair Use & public information

cvd - regional R for 12th March 2021

R estimates well down, mostly below 0.8. Probably the lack of inter-personal contacts during Lockdown, reducing opportunities for infection. Also the vaccine rollout will be having some affect on the case rates. Not my Image ; Fair Use & public information

cvd - UK; 8th September 2020

12 Sep 2020 120
Data for the week ending 8th September 2020, in the form of case rates per 100,000 population in parts of Great Britain. The highest rates are the orange areas, then descending through the three blue shades to the lowest rate being the palest shade. This is about when the very rapid growth in the case rates really started and coincided with people coming back from holidays abroad and students going back into places of higher education (mainly universities, although the majority of "Freshers' Week" events were largely discontinued in the more socially responsible areas). Based on relatively large areas, but this does disguise local scale variations in some of the larger zones. Not my Image ; Fair Use & public information
