Somewhat out of focus and zoomed in-camera snap of "our" visiting red squirrel.
{15:21 on 29th March 2022}
I think s/he is eating the kernel from hazel nuts ...

Quick snap for record purposes. Taken as is just in case s/he legged it suddenly. More to follow ...
That's definitely a red squirrel.
Very rare in this area ...

Cheeky has just ducked down under the lid, to extract another hazel [cob] nut.
oaw[rsq] - eatin' nuts [16Feb2022 - 4 of 4]

The best of a bunch of four hurried images ... squirrel is, by the dropped shells, into eating a serious number of hazel nut kernels.
The angle's not brilliant, but that feeder wasn't easy to position. There's a seed feeder to the right, which has been another source of feed for him/her.
It was also taken through some very old & rippled window glass.
baw - "wingspot"

Male blackbird on the window feeder. [Turdus merula]
Identifiable from the small patch of grey/white feathers on his left wing.
He's a cheeky rascal - tells me to top up the food supply by tapping on the window !
Also a good forecaster / observer for bad weather - eats very greedily in advance of rain, wind, frost & snow but largely absent in milder conditions as he's finding insects & fruit etc elsewhere.
baw - Nuthatch

Nuthatch - Sitta europaea
I've nicknamed my main pair as "nutsnatchers" as they've developed a rapid raid method on this bird feeder. Unusually, this one paused long enough for me to take a few pictures.
