{5-37} 1953 AEC Mandator (probably a Mark III, from wikipedia's descriptions) This one worked on government service. [ASL 473] to the left is a partial view of {5-72} a 1979 Lyland Terrier [TJV 512T] 7.5 ton flat bed.

Electric cars aren't a new concept. This is a 1972 Crompton Leyland "Electricar" - sadly, this was just a prototype, achieving a low weight with the available battery technology & materials were incompatible aims at the time ... although milk floats [etc] had been produced for many years, for these vehicles weight and high speed were lesser considerations. www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/online-collections/details-page?row_id=76417441839 By the size I would call this a shopping basket on wheels - a bit like the FIAT126 my mother had at around that time [spookily, it's even a similar colour]
