STR - bright leaves, also fences

Beech trees giving a splash of colour in the background, and a multitude of fences in the foreground. . The shed is actually the STR workshop, the main running line is separated from the public walking route [The South Tyne Trail] by a strained wire fence, which is so thin that it doesn't stop you taking good images of the trains - when they are running ! and the substantial wooden fence on the left protects you from a drop into the river or onto the flood / erosion protective rock armour (as seen in other images).

According to a nearby information board, this Beech [Fagus sylvatica] was probably planted about 200 years ago, but due to the shape was never harvested. One of several large & old trees in this area, this is probably the largest specimen. Beech trees are naturalised rather than native to this area, but are important for wildlife, especially when they grow to this size. The bench is one of several memorials, including under individual trees, to supporters of the Woodland Trust. HBM !

Mainly common beech leaves by the side of the path alongside the River Allen, they were soaking wet as it had been raining earlier. There was a lot of beech mast nearby.
