Fox arrival caught by the camera trap

A very healthy looking [young ?] fox checking out the food dish we've been leaving out for the garden's hedgehog. Not sure if male [dog] or female[vixen], more likely to be the former, given it is mid-July as the breeding vixens tend to stay in or close to their dens at this time of the breeding season. Slightly tongue-in-cheek advice to the "terriermen" that can be found with traditional fox-hunts or smokescrren "trail" hunting. Badgers are protected animals, and hunted foxes are known to take refuge in badger setts, so hunts block setts or attempt to dig out so they can satisfy their bloodlust. . not my image : fair use & public education
