Outside the ALC was this giant yellow welli [wellington boot] - these are something of a signature piece for the RNLI, being a well-known part of the crew kit.
The motif turns up in various forms of souvenirs, such as key-rings ...

Beauty and Bella are continuing to improve their relationship - apart from very minor hiccoughs - by sharing the same sofa cushion. Several nose to nose contacts have been made.
The only very minor difficulty has been when Bella has hoofed Beauty during a stretch, and Beauty has responded with a claw-led paw swipe or three. It must be said that is actually quite a rare event, normally Beauty replies with a grade "A" dirty look.
CF - furniture wax [SC - 130]

|
A range of pre-coloured wax crayons, used to cover [fill] small scratches / pin-holes in timber - usually furniture or panelling.
The wax needs to warmed to make it pliable when stopping pin holes or to mix for a more exact colour match. I use it cold when working on scratches. Normally a final coat of varnish or lacquer will be required.

Hetherington Co headlamp No.421 on the port side of this traction engine [422 is on the starboard side]. The lens is quite the bullseye.
www.hetheringtonlamp.co.uk - I recognized the name, as Hetheringtons also make a wide range of "heritage" oil cans and I had been reminded of the company by a recently seen advert.
bcv[22] - WW2 / Home Guard [1 of 2]

|
Display - with talks - of Home Guard weapons [all de-activated or replica]. Note the bell tents and army blankets.
The nearest three weapons are all "Sten" guns, then a selection of Webley revolvers [plus an interloping Smith & Wesson .38], Thompson sub-machine guns and finally some rifles.
Standing behind are their storage boxes. Note the case with a wide "red stripe" if I recall correctly that denotes the weapon is a non-standard calibre for Britain, requiring specific ammunition.

The logo for British Railways between 1948 and 1956. This example is on the tender of 6000 at STEAM. (The GWR loco "King George V").
Nicknamed the "Cyling Lion" I prefer this to all the later logos, although the simple version of the "hadaway comeback" arrows used from 1965 are simple, clear and symbolic.
