Having cleaned, repaired and painted the chassis, work has begun on fitting the floor planks. . I suspect the slight hogging will be removed by the weight of the woodwork.

This corner gusset plate has had a very wasted section replaced, other rust concretions removed and then everything was painted. Similar work has been done in several other areas.

When the LMS built this waggon in c1938, it was fitted with vacuum brakes but on being sold to the Port of Bristol Authority in 1966 the latter removed the cylinder and pipework, as well as most of this support bracket, leaving only the handbrakes operational.

TR - two underframes

These two "underfames" are something of a contrast ... In the foreground is the wooden chassis from the 2ft 3" Talyllyn Railway's ex-Corris Railway Van 6, awaiting the work to restore / refit the bodywork etc. In the background is the standard gauge "5 - plank" general goods waggon, the chassis repair work has been completed, and it has been thoroughly painted. The current task is fitting the floor planks.
