It took me several minutes to work out what this piece of glass artwork really represented. It hangs in the window of the Chatterbox Cafe, in St John's Chapel, a small village in Weardale. . . It's three cyclists, one in a yellow shirt ... representing the Tour of Britain. Quite a few places have yellow bicycles displayed, in celebration of the Tour passing through a settlement.

Glass is another frequent find, ranging from beads and window glass to highly decorated bowls and jars. The central item in this display is part of a painted bowl, showing Gladiators [I think] {there is a similar piece in the museum at Coria [Corbridge] which shows the rear half of a leopard / cheetah}.

Three lots of safety glass. The narrow ones at the top are for the ducket. the two rectangular ones are for the guard's end and the remainder are the fixed lights for passengers to watch the countryside passing ...
