PopKulture's photos with the keyword: demolished

The beautiful Times Theatre once sat on a busy corner in Danville, Illinois, a place sadly now occupied by a nondescript CVS Pharmacy. For a spell, I lived about a half hour away; as the building faced east, I regret not getting up earlier to take a picture of it bathing in the sun. Had I known it was going to be torn down, I surely would have. :-( This is one of the few views I do have, dating to the mid-1990's.

Times Theatre, Danville, Illinois. Now demolished. I seldom desaturate color photos, but this late theatre somehow serves as its own tombstone thus.

Unfortunately, efforts to save the beautiful DuPage Theatre in Lombard, Illinois met with continual difficulty and corruption, and it finally succumbed to the wrecking ball a year or two ago. Photo February 2000.
