Published in 1911, this antique dime novel, rich in Indian lore as the title suggests, features the adventures of a "boy scout" - though not necessarily a reference to the then burgeoning American Boy Scout movement.

Phrenology was a psuedo-science that ascribed certain personality traits and characteristics to the shape and disposition of one's features - notably, the skull. It enjoyed widespread popularity in the nineteenth century.
This September 1865 cover features Lt. General Ulysses S. Grant - an obvious choice given that the magazine was published in the summer just following the Union victory.
