Barry Sadler's number one song of 1966, "Tales of the Green Berets," and lasting a scant five issues, the comic Tales of the Green Beret carried the motto "If we must fight... we will win!" - perhaps too dubious a claim for a dejected America that was tasting defeat in southeast Asia at the time.
