Marklin began making tin doll house accessories in 1859 and later achieved reknown for their model railroads and construction sets. Besides its stylized cover, this vintage catalog features hundreds of fascinating iterations of building kits. Although earlier versions of Marklin sets were available in the United States under the name "Meccano," most Americans would generically identify such kits as Erector sets. Undated, but likely 1930's. Cover art by Lvowic Hohlwein.

Original sheet of A.C. Gilbert "Tips" subscription coupons - probably 1920's. As explained in the text box, young boys (sorry, no girls allowed, I guess) were encouraged to pass five coupons off to their friends and keep one for themselves, entitling each of them to a year's subscription to "Tips" magazine, containing tidbits relating to building and construction. Of course, A.C. Gilbert was best known for their Erector sets.
