Victorian-era reward of merit card which lends one to believe playing marbles wasn't consistently considered delinquent for youngsters. p.s. I'm guessing by the cricket bat that this may be English in origin, but not necessarily.

This abandoned and delightfully dilapidated schoolhouse in small-town Elmira, Illinois, appears not long for this world. At the rate the siding is being stolen off it, the first heavy snowfall stands to do it in. Still, in its heyday, it must have been a source of great pride for the townsfolk.
