The Hyde Hall train

26 Mar 2016 1 501
Best viewed LARGE Whilst out and about tracing the course of the Denton Colliery Railway this train appeared close to the route of the line which closed in the late 1920s. Speculation was rife as to whether it was the Paddy train for the miners, but it appears that more likely it provides accommodation for the ponies! ;-)

Portland Road Pottery

Portland Road Pottery in Longton certainly doesn't look like your normal Staffordshire pot bank. It looks as if it was built in the 1890s as stable with associated house and perhaps office accommodation. Nowadays it is used for wholesaleing wares from the lower end of the market.
