This sculpture was named "ΔT" which I interpreted to mean "Changing times".....the Greek letter Delta usually refers (in mathematics) to a change of something. The dates are those which are / were significant in British and / or local history and they range from 1307 to 2018 which is when this sculpture was created. This is one of the many sculptures along the Pendle Sculpture Trail near the village of Barley in Lancashire, North-West England (link below).

Fence Wars....(not-so-Happy FF).

This fence has recently been erected between two of my local stores, B&Q and Pendle Village Mill (P.V.M.). For many years B&Q have had a Garden Centre here attached to their main store but P.V.M. have recently opened one of their own in direct competition. In order to try and prevent their customers from visiting their new competitor, B&Q have blocked the "border" between the two stores with this fence. In response, P.V.M. have put up this sign blaming B&Q for the inconvenience. On the opposite side of the sign (facing the B&Q car-park and main entrance) is a "Welcome to Pendle Village Mill's New Garden Centre" message. The whole thing is pointless though, because customers (who don't like being told by B&Q where they can or can't do their shopping) can simply walk around the fence where it ends about 30 metres away, or climb through one of the many gaps which have already appeared in it.
Keep to the footpath ?

Photographed near the town of Burnley in Lancashire, North-West England. After walking up to Crown Point and the "Singing Ringing Tree" (see my "Sony RX100" album) we decided to take a short-cut back to the town. My GPS showed this route (correctly) as a public footpath but gave no indication of how hazardous it was. There are lots of hidden rocks, holes in the ground covered by long grass and sudden steep drops down to the river which are not visible until you get to the edge of them. The so-called "footpath" itself is invisible beneath the grass and vegetation. This sign is located about half-way along the route.....I think it would have been much better if it was located at the start as a warning !!
Guy Fawkes (birthplace).

Guy Fawkes (1570 – 1606) also known as Guido Fawkes (the name he adopted while fighting for the Spanish) was a member of a group of provincial English Catholics who planned the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605.
Fawkes was born and educated in York. His father died when Fawkes was eight years old, after which his mother married a recusant Catholic. Fawkes converted to Catholicism and left for the continent where he fought in the "80 Years War" on the side of Catholic Spain against Protestant Dutch reformers in the Low Countries. He travelled to Spain to seek support for a Catholic rebellion in England without success. He later met Thomas Wintour, with whom he returned to England.
Wintour introduced Fawkes to Robert Catesby who planned to assassinate King James I and restore a Catholic monarch to the throne. The plotters leased an undercroft (cellar) beneath the House of Lords and Fawkes was placed in charge of the gunpowder they stockpiled there. Prompted by the receipt of an anonymous letter the authorities searched Westminster Palace during the early hours of 5 November and found Fawkes guarding the explosives. Over the next few days he was questioned, tortured and eventually he confessed. Immediately before his execution on 31 January 1606, Fawkes fell from the scaffold where he was to be hanged and broke his neck, thus avoiding the agony of the mutilation that followed.
Fawkes became synonymous with the Gunpowder Plot, the failure of which has been commemorated each year in Britain since 5 November 1605. His effigy is traditionally burned on a bonfire accompanied by a fireworks display.
