The Sunday Challenge: De buurt Uitzicht op het kunstmatige eiland Wittenburg over de Kattenburgervaart. Links het uitzicht van rond 1950, rechts het huidige uitzicht. Er is heel veel veranderd in de afgelopen 72 jaar, met name in de jaren 1970 en 1980. De protestantse Oosterkerk (links) is gerestaureerd, de protestantse gemeente is al jaren geleden verhuisd en gefuseerd met andere gemeenten. De kerk is nu in gebruik als buurthuis en er zijn van tijd tot tijd ook kerkdiensten. De katholieke Annakerk (linker foto, midden) is gesloopt. Het gebouw van de bierbrouwerij De Parel (rechts) is gerestaureerd tot appartementen. Alle andere gebouwen, zowel krotwoningen als industriële gebouwen, hebben in de jaren 1980 plaats gemaakt voor sociale woningbouw, waarvan inmiddels ook al een groot deel is verkocht. The Sunday Challenge: Negatiefruimte Mensen kopen dingen die: A nuttig zijn, B gerieflijk zijn, C leuk zijn, D de buren jaloers maken. D is de groep die wij zoeken. Dit is de zin waarin de hele marketing om draait. De zin is afkomstig uit ‘Obelix & Co.’, een deel uit de reeks Asterix. In dit verhaal moeten totaal overbodige menhirs aan de Romeinen worden verkocht. Zo is het ook met dit flesje drinken, alleen dan onder de categorie ‘angst’. De potentiële klant wordt hier aangesproken op de angst voor dorst en een tekort aan vitamine C en D. Iets wat met een normaal fatsoenlijk dieet onmogelijk is. En dan noemen we niet eens dat een constante consumptie van eten en drinken slecht is voor het gebit... Dat de klant de fles ook nog half gevuld laat rondslingeren is dan weer een andere discussie… – – – The Sunday Challenge: Negative space People buy things that are: A useful, B convenient, C fun, D making jealous of the neighbours. D is the group we are looking for. This is the phrase around which the whole marketing exercise revolves. It comes from 'Obelix & Co.', part of the Asterix series. In this story, totally superfluous menhirs have to be sold to the Romans. So it is with this bottle of drink, only under the category of 'fear'. The potential customer is addressed here on the fear of thirst and a shortage of vitamin C and D. Something that is impossible with a normal decent diet. And not to even mention that the constant consumption of food and drink is bad for teeth... Hetzelfde huis maar dan in 1960: zie notitie (PiP) of www.ipernity.com/doc/299737/49985406 Er lijkt in die 60 jaar weinig veranderd, maar: het huis is midden jaren 80 gerestaureerd, de stoep is verbreed, de straat versmald, minder parkeergelegenheid voor auto’s maar juist meer voor fietsen, meer ruimte voor voetgangers, er zijn nieuwe huizen en kantoren gebouwd nadat een brouwerij, een papierfabriek en loodsen zijn verdwenen, de steeg naar rechts (Overhaalsgang) was doodlopend en komt nu uit op een brug, en er is meer groen. Scavenge Hunt 26/50: Verkeersbord - Traffic sign - - - Tijdens de coronacrisis sloot Duitsland zijn grenzen met de meeste buurlanden. De grens met Nederland bleef open. Hier de grens op de oude hessenweg van Münster naar Deventer. De borden staan in Nederland, de fietsers zijn Duits maar zijn in Nederland, en ik, Nederlands, sta in Duitsland. Hoe zou het zijn met de privacy rechten van de fietsers? Gelden de Nederlandse daar ze in Nederland zijn of gelden de (strengere) Duitse want ik sta in Duitsland? – – – During the coronacrisis Germany closed its borders with most of its neighbouring countries. The border with The Netherlands stayed open. Here the border on the old ‘hessenweg’ (an old trade road used by wide wagons drawn by horses) from Münster to Deventer. The traffic signs are in The Netherlands, the cyclists are German and are in The Netherlands, and I, being Dutch, I am in Germany. How would it be with privacy rights of the cyclists? The Sunday Challenge: sereniteit Een vrijwel lege Dam. Zelfs op zondagochtend 8 uur zijn er in normale tijden veel mensen te zien. Volgende week zondag is de laatste dag van de huidige lamlegging, erna kunnen de horeca en diverse uitgaansgelegenheden weer open, zij het op beperkte schaal. Verder ook uniek in deze tijd: er hangen regenwolken boven het koninklijk paleis en de stad, iets wat we in geen weken meer hebben gezien. – – – The Sunday Challenge: serenity A nearly empty Dam in Amsterdam. In normal times on a sundaymorning 8 o’clock even the Dam in Amsterdam is filled with people. Next week Sunday it will be the last day of the current phase of the ‘intelligent lockdown’, the Monday thereafter the horeca (hotels, restaurants, cafes) and outgoing places can be opened again, although in a limited scale. Saturday Self Challenge: Gereedschapskist Ik had een lekke band, vandaar…. Banden plakken duurt minder dan een kwartier en is een belangrijke vaardigheid, hoewel er tegenwoordig minder lekke banden zijn wegens betere banden en een kwalitatief goed wegdek. Zowel het doosje als bandenlichters zijn tegenwoordig van kunststof.
