Braving the cold

19 Feb 2010 170
A VERY fluffed-up House Sparrow, photographed just over two years ago on a bitterly cold day! How different from the more usual sleek look. "It was first introduced into North America at Brooklyn, New York in 1850 and in Canada at Quebec City in 1858. In Alberta, it was first recorded at Red Deer in 1898, about the same time it arrived on the US west coast." From talkaboutwildlife. talkaboutwildlife.ca/profile/?s=347
