A bit of an obscure link for 'Sight and Sound' but I was taken with the sky here. I have chosen Jackson Browne's "Late for the Sky" covered by Sivert Hoyem with Darling West. One of my very favourite songs and love this cover version. Must be heard through headphones I say :-) Added to Sight and Sound : Pictures & Music ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ Listen here ~ Late for the Sky - Sivert Hoyem with Darling West Maybe view on black, please.

A fountain in the grounds of Greys Court, a National Trust property in the southern Chiltern Hills at Rotherfield Greys, near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. For 'Sight and Sound' I have chosen "Fountain of Sorrow" by Jackson Browne. A studio version from the 1974 album "Late for the Sky". And, a live version by Jackson Browne and John David Souther. Explored! Thank you very much :-) This is our neighbour's puss cat, Tilly. We are still working on being friends :-) Tilly was on our shed roof and I think it was handy that I was able to use the sky as a backdrop :-) I had fished out ye olde Nikon D5000 with a 35mm prime lens attached. I am now wondering why I didn't use this combination a bit more often :-) Also, added to Sight and Sound : Pictures & Music ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ Listen here ~ I'm The Cat ~ Jackson Browne Or here ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ~ I'm The Cat ~ Jackson Browne

Explored! Thank you very much :-) SATURDAY SELF-CHALLENGE 22 SEPTEMBER 2018 "TAKE A PHOTO AND POST PROCESS IT TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL FOR YOUR SUBJECT" Over many years I have tried 'painterly' effects with varying degrees of failure and occasional success :-) A long time back I was pleased with the results from using the 'Art History Brush' in Photoshop 6. But the more I used this process the worse I got! A while back I came across the 'Dream Smoothing' filter in GIMP Photo software. I have been pleased with some of the results :-) I have previously uploaded a few photos where the effect was used but they were mostly using the default settings. GIMP says - "A relatively slow filter that uses anisotropic filtering to smooth an image. More iterations produces a softer image as does lower opacity values. Practical modes for merging are Alpha and Average. The results are resolution dependent". Of course I knew this :-))) This week I have spent a lot time trying different combinations of the settings. Already there appear to be endless combinations :-) The Arty border came from a free giveaway of Borders in 'Digital Photo' magazine from a long time back. In the PiP one I think I may have got a little bit carried away :-) And, for Sight and Sound : Pictures & Music ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ Listen here ~ Some Bridges ~ Jackson Browne

"For A Dancer"

Added to Soundtrack Weekend www.ipernity.com/group/362993 One of my more logical links this weekend. “For A Dancer” written and performed by Jackson Browne features on Jackson’s album “Late for the Sky” released in 1974. From the cover of Jackson’s Greatest Hits album - “Over the past three decades Rock and Roll Famer Jackson Browne has created and voiced many of the most literate and emotionally powerful compositions in popular music. Along the way he has touched the hearts and minds of countless fans worldwide and proved himself to be one of rock’s most enduring singer-songwriters”………………..No argument there!!! Lots of peoples were dancing to the superb entertainment at Hughenden’s 1940s Weekend :-)) I wish I could dance properly!! Helen and I did have dancing lessons a very long time ago and I remember that when I was with Dallas, the dancing instructor, we made a great couple and I would have given John Travolta a run for his money! Trouble was that when Dallas left me to my own devices I went downhill very fast :-))) Watch/Listen here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=IU1rZa8Ur_Q

"Late for the Sky"

Where on earth ‘ave I been since 1974??? I must have been in hibernation not to be familiar with “Late for the Sky” by Jackson Browne :-)) I am very familiar with such classic Jackson Browne songs as “rock me on the water”, “these days”, “take it easy“, “fountain of sorrow”, “running on empty”, “the pretender”, "doctor my eyes”, “jamaica say you will”………………But, until I recently picked up “Jackson Browne Greatest Hits” for £3 (total bargain!) from Sainsbury’s supermarket I simply wasn’t familiar with “Late for the Sky” !! But now, I think I have worn out the replay button :-))) The next thing was how to get this breathtaking and all-time classic song on “Soundtrack Weekend”. So, here comes one of my obscure links :-) This shot was taken late-ish in the day and it is mostly of the sky. So that is good enough for moi :-))) Watch/Listen here- www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvBhFc0BSjI
