(for those of you who are interested in seeing my San Francisco trip images, I have uploaded 10 pictures in this batch [11 yesterday]). Thanks everyone for your comments and your visits to my photostream! I hope you enjoy the show! The cross at the top of Mt. Davidson isn't very fancy, but it is very tall and spectacular! There used to be illegally placed climbing spikes leading all the way to the top so that those who were bold enough could climb up to the top, provided they had proper climbing gear. On top there is a rusty lunch box with a note book inside for people to sign their names. I have never climbed up there, but one of my brothers and his friend did! I would be too terrified to do such a thing but this feat would be a memory to last a lifetime! Every Easter, there is a special service held here, and it's caused lots of controversy over the years. At one point there was pressure to remove the cross, but thankfully this didn't happen. Whether or not you are religious, this cross is an amazing monument to behold and it would be a tragedy to lose this very special landmark. It can be seen from across the city on a clear day! This image was taken during my trip to San Francisco during September 12-15, 2011. (Note to Flickr folks: I do try to keep my uploads to only 3-5 pictures at a time, but I have too many pictures to keep to that number. So instead I'm letting people know how many I've uploaded in case they want to see them.)

Today I took the dogs on a walk around the property. It was almost dark and I was tired but the dogs wanted to go out, so I pulled on a sweater and off we went. Part of our path takes us past our seasonal pond, and as we went by, I noticed something white on the ground. "OH! Could it be a puffball?!!" I went over to take a closer look and to my surprise, there lay a tiny egg. With a sad heart, I gently picked it up and found it to be unblemished but cold, without a nest in sight. This dear little baby would never have a chance for life, but I thought to myself, "Maybe I could give this little lost life some meaning and share it with the world for Easter." I put it in my pocket and took it home for a picture session! When I was done, I showed it to my husband, who was also very saddened to see this egg, and wished we could have saved it somehow. I told him I took pictures, and he decided to go take some of his own! And so, for my 3 Easter day pictures, I am sharing this one from me, and two that Steve took for the following two. 2 more pictures above! :) Here is our little fallen egg in a group hug with four chicken eggs! (I found this tiny egg on our road one morning and brought it up to the house to take pictures of it. We love birds and this made us sad, but we took pictures to give it meaning and immortality! :) We think it was from a mourning dove, as there are many who live here, but we can't say for certain.) Today we needed to go out to look for some plates and dishes for some product shots Steve needed to take for a client and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity for a 365 picture! We went to some thrift stores to see what they had (you can't beat 49¢ for a beautiful plate that would retail for $10.00!!) and we also looked in some retail stores. We didn't find anything better than our wonderful selection at home, but it was fun looking, and I got lots of fantastic pictures!! This adorable bunny-shaped salt & pepper shaker was at a Pier 1 Imports store, which is always such fun to explore. They had a wonderful display of Easter decor, including this darling little guy! I cooed when I saw it, I cooed when I took this picture, and I cooed when I worked on this image! So of course I needed to use the quote from the Daily Squee , "So cute your brain might explode." If you haven't been to this website before and you love adorable pictures, you're in for a big treat! SQUEEEEEE!!!! :D
