Here is the entire berry stalk for you to see, and it's about 2.5 feet tall, can you believe that?!! Laura and I could not stop gawking at these wierdo plants! Behind the stalk you'll see one of the leaves I took a close-up of, shown yesterday. Apparently these plants love the weather in San Francisco because I saw them growing in my father's neighborhood, and there was an enormous grove of them here in the Arboretum. This image was taken during my trip to San Francisco during September 12-15, 2011.

One of the places Laura and I walked to was the Arboretum, which is a wonderful, enormous collection of plants from all over the world. This is a close-up image of a huge, unidentified plant with enormous 2-feet wide dark-green leaves. This image shows the strange stalk which is covered with red berries. Wouldn't you agree that this is one of the oddest, most beautiful plants you've ever seen?
