Marking the gradual transition of the Barker Pass Road into a Jeep trail. West of Lake Tahoe, Sierra Nevada, California. EDIT: I've added a PiP of what this road looks like about 1/4 mile before it intersects the Rubicon OHV trail. It's about 5 miles--and over an hour driving!--from here.

Looking east from the Pacific Crest Trail a couple of miles north of Barker Pass. The Carson Range, on the skyline, is in Nevada and forms the east shore of the lake. California State Route 89 follows the shore on this side.
