Haul road

Tempiute mine, Lincoln County, Nevada. A tungsten mine that was active from ca. WW II up to ca. 1960, probably when the Federal Government yanked the strategic metal subsidies. As is commonly the case for tungsten, the mineralization is in skarn developed at the contact between an intruding granite and host limestone. This road used to be passable to more than Jeeps! ;)

This appears to have been where the ore was loaded--I don't know where the mill was.
