Said to be the first campground build by the USFS, in the teens of the last century. The CCC put in major improvements (including this building) in the 1930s, but at least this part of the campground seems in disrepair. I was there in mid-June, so it should have been tourist season. I gather the building is still used for occasional functions, but I don't know why the campsites were closed. The area is just upstream from Bonneville Dam.

A late-season snowfall on Memorial Day weekend. It was all gone again in a couple of days. At least it made for interesting landscapes! Bob Scott campground, at the summit of the eponymous pass on US 50. Toiyabe Range, central Nevada, USA.

Twin Lakes Resort, Sierra Nevada, California, USA. This bear has gotten into an ice chest (why you _don't_ leave them outside in bear country!) and is drinking what he's found there. The bears have learned to puncture aluminum beverage cans with their teeth and extract the contents.
This is _not_ our rig, I hasten to add! You can get a fine for leaving stuff out that bears can get into. They're not supposed to get used to living off humans. "Keep wildlife wild," as the slogan goes.
