Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: THE SEVENTIES
From L to R: My brother, electric guitar, (he's 15), my cousin Keith, drummer, Kevin, roadie, Fred, roadie, Fred's girlfriend, lovely "Bugs", Lori, looking adoringly at her husband, Skip [bass player?] and Joe behind them.
Below, my brother playing in another band c.1973
That's me on the left - and that charming look is directed at my poor mother who had the temerity to ask me to turn around for a photo.
I really wasn't always that awful. : )

The only ones there.
This is the trip I took as a teen, back to England. If you're interested you can read more about it under the Trip to Britain 1972 set. www.flickr.com/photos/dlundbech/sets/72157632923201023/
I had been reading about Kathryn Parr, last wife of Henry VIII, and I wanted to visit her home. Ruth and Lynn were willing, as we had no agenda. Free days!
Here's Ruth documenting something, and Lynn looking on.
Pre-Party Sing

My father and brother Nicholas, mid 1970s I think.
When we were growing up we used to have really, big noisy sing a long parties at my house with my Dad playing piano. Our family friends always came (Browns and Jamiesons, etc.) but sometime in my late teens my friends starting coming too - so they learned all the old English music hall songs - along with carols and show tunes.
Many great memories of my family and friends belting out California Here I Come, Knees Up Mother Brown, Any Old Iron, Oklahoma, Boiled Beef and Carrots, Side By Side, etc. etc. - three sheets to the wind a lot of the time - but still tuneful.: )
Uncle Harry singing "Tangerine", Uncle Maurice singing "Girls Were Made to Love and Kiss", my parents singing "Too Late Now To Forget You."
Wonderful times.

L to R: Joanne, Hal, Donny, me, in a rare time of looking like my mother's side of the family and looking a lot like my great aunt Maud in the preceding photo, Doug A. (on the bike) Doug M.to the right of me and Dennis on the end.

Brian's oldest brother Chris (renamed Yudisthir Das) became a Hare Krishna in the early 1970s.
(I'm not sure if I have the names spelled correctly.) Corrected.
This was taken at his wedding. It was an arranged marriage.
He met her on the day of their wedding.
Two family sorrows.
He's eating with his hands because they were not allowed to use utensils.
Brian, 1972.

Not that difficult I think.
Brought forward for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of "wallpaper".
This is my friend Joanne in one of her infinite costume variations - I guess "office girl" in this one - (I SO need to do an album featuring Joanne!) in the kitchen with my brother Nicholas at my parent's 25th wedding anniversary party. Nicholas was always more fashionable than me - an understatement of staggering proportions.
This is my family's apartment, Lombard Street, New Haven, Connecticut.
And if you couldn't guess, it's the seventies - February, 1977 to be exact.

Brought forward for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of "Capital City". Here I am on the right, in London, Trafalgar Square, 1974.
Our scanner is not available because we're redecorating. I really wanted to upload a new (old) one of me in Rome that is less about me, more Rome/Coliseum.
In the title, I am referring to a previous sulky photo.
Although I don't think my friend (on the left) was very happy - she didn't like the pigeons at all.
This is 1974 and shortly before we left for the Continent. We camped in a tiny tent for over four months. Neither of us had ever camped before - putting up the tent the first night was pretty hilarious. (Well, not to us, but it would have been to an observer.)
In all that time we met no other young women camping with their women friends - just their boyfriends. We met two women that I can remember who were travelling alone - a Californian and a New Yorker.
I still see this friend but not often. She has lived in Berlin since the 1980s.

More random pictures from my closet cleaning.
My brother Nicholas in 1973, playing in his band Whisper and wearing his custom leather pants. He might have been wearing his immense platform shoes too but sadly we can't see those. Michael was the singer - love the silver shirt.
