We had heavy rains and the generally calm river at the bottom of our field was raging. It overflowed the banks and was probably about five feet above normal. A few miles back up the river at the falls, the water rose twelve feet. The normal river line is above the middle of the photo.

Actually on May 20. We were a little short of candles. so there's less than the required number. Gabe thought it was really cheesy to re-use old candles -which we've always done. We laughed at him.

Traditionally he has always had strawberry shortcake - but his girlfriend hates strawberries - so we improvised with lemon pound cake.
