The road at the bottom of our field is no longer, but we were very lucky. Our house and our neighbor's house stayed dry despite the strong river current crossing his lawn. What you see here is usually a road between the bush and weeds. The New Haven River breached its banks by a long way and took out the access road. Much of Vermont was less fortunate. Although Bristol had roads wash away and several people had to be evacuated, no-one was hurt. Sadly, this wasn't true for others in the state and there were people who lost their lives.
