There is a fancy circular stamp on the back that says around it: Furness Railway OAVENDO TUTUS [?] Also: Furness Abbey Hotel, Barrow-in-Furness. Beautifully situated within the grounds of Furness Abbey and adjoining Furness Abbey Station. Centre for the English Lake District. Within 11/2 miles of "George Romney's Early Home." Message is addressed to: Mrs. M. King c/o Mrs. B Troughton 65 Derby St. Somerville Mass. U.S.A. (crossed out and re-addressed to 7 Litchfield St. Vermont) Dear M. Many thanks for your letter & contents rec'd this morning. will write a long letter when holidays are over. Last week we had glorious weather but this week so far it is very thundery. We are just having a very severe thunderstorm worst we had for some yrs in Barrow. Hope you will have a good time in New York.
