Pre-Party Sing

08 Dec 2012 217
My father and brother Nicholas, mid 1970s I think. When we were growing up we used to have really, big noisy sing a long parties at my house with my Dad playing piano. Our family friends always came (Browns and Jamiesons, etc.) but sometime in my late teens my friends starting coming too - so they learned all the old English music hall songs - along with carols and show tunes. Many great memories of my family and friends belting out California Here I Come, Knees Up Mother Brown, Any Old Iron, Oklahoma, Boiled Beef and Carrots, Side By Side, etc. etc. - three sheets to the wind a lot of the time - but still tuneful.: ) Uncle Harry singing "Tangerine", Uncle Maurice singing "Girls Were Made to Love and Kiss", my parents singing "Too Late Now To Forget You." Wonderful times.
