In the olden days you could buy an evening return ticket, only valid after 18:00 hours and not on Friday. The fare ƒ2.75 is €1.25. The cheapest fare nowadays (about 26 years later) is €4.80.

The letter first got a registration number in the Netherlands. Then the Germans applied their own registration number (at the top). When the letter was sent back, the Dutch post put a new registration number on it.
