The Ford Capri is not and never was one of my favourite cars but it is for many and is, as such, an enduring classic. The remaining Capris I have seen are very well looked after and this 1986 example, seen at Solent Airport, is no exception. In addition to its aircraft and excellent café, an attraction of Solent Airport is that a number of very interesting cars are seen in its car park. 200_4_P1000934CE

1972 Ford Capri UBX28L Gosportarians Car and Bike Show, Walpole Park, Gosport. Poor weather threatened the success of this event but there were some interesting and beautifully cared for vehicles there. I am very grateful to be able to photograph cars which I did not capture in their and my younger years. On the face of it, the Capri, of which nearly 1.9m were sold, is not at all my kind of car but I find that I have a soft spot for it. I think that is because of the feelings it stirred when I was not even old enough to drive. 5300_DSC_0770E
