On 29 August 1979, Dominica was struck by Hurricane David. It caused a boabab tree at the Botanic Gardens to fall on a school bus which, fortunately, was not occupied. Both tree and bus are in place to this day, nearly 40 years later, and make a dramatic exhibit. 200_3_P1100328

On a Saturday afternoon, ten school buses were at rest in Meteor Drive near Toronto's Pearson airport. The line up comprised eight GMC vehicles and two Chevrolet. As can be seen, the GMC example nearest the camera, operated by McCluskey Transportation Services, has Futura bodywork by Girardin. I should have checked all ten buses but I was, primarily, photographing aircraft. 200_3_P1010185R
