On 29 August 1979, Dominica was struck by Hurricane David. It caused a boabab tree at the Botanic Gardens to fall on a school bus which, fortunately, was not occupied. Both tree and bus are in place to this day, nearly 40 years later, and make a dramatic exhibit. 200_3_P1100328

Our Neoplan tour bus on Dominica was larger than the more common Toyota Coasters and similar vehicles and faced some challenges on steep, winding roads. It is seen here in less demanding conditions at Dominica Botanic Gardens. 200_3_P1100321CE
