The Compressor House of South Tincroft Mine was built in 1891 to house a horizontal, steam-driven, cross compound air compressor built by Harvey & Co. of Hayle. It supplied compressed air to rock drills deep underground. South Tincroft Mine closed in 1921. 200_2_P1150160

The Man Engine House of the South Tincroft Mine is another part of the beautiful remains of the Cornish mining industry. Built c1860, it is the only complete Man Engine House left in Cornwall. It housed a 26 inch cylinder rotative beam engine for raising ore and powering the Man Engine in the nearby Dunkin's shaft. South Tincroft Mine closed in 1921. 200_2_P1150164
