I love to walk around a city and enjoy its architecture, especially the historical architecture. Donisthorpe Friars Mill charms across the centuries but, seen more closely, its state of dereliction and that of its surroundings is sad and scars the city. The land, has, apparently, been earmarked for development but seems currently to be used for storing building supplies. I am very pleased with this picture which was originally intended to be simply a reference shot but became a worthwhile image in its own right. the barbed wire against a blue sky delivers some sort of message. 200_P1040563

I love to walk around a city and enjoy its architecture, especially the historical architecture. The River Soar, adjacent to the abandoned Donisthorpe Friars Mill, is fairly choked with weed and affected by litter. The Mill itself charms across the centuries but, seen more closely, its state of dereliction and that of its surroundings is sad and scars the city. 200_P1040554
