LMS Class 2 2-6-0 46521 stands at Loughborough with the 1215 to Leicester North. This shot was taken from the Great Central Road bridge. With quite a lot of comings and goings on the platform and my arms stretched, I am just going to have to accept the feet beneath the canopy!

LMS Class 2 2-6-0 46521 stands at Loughborough with the 1215 to Leicester North. This shot was taken as I left Loughborough with reluctance but, I think, could convey the image of ones first or last sight of ones train in a bygone era. This is especially true of the b&w version as the buildings in the background are sufficiently indistinct to make the picture pretty timeless.

LMS Class 2 2-6-0 46521 had arrived at Loughborough with the 1100 from Leicester North and run round to return as the 1215 service. At locations which are busy on even non-event days, it is all but impossible to exclude people from ones photographs altogether so I decided to include some in a few pictures as long as they did not unduly distract from the main subject.

This is probably my least successful photograph of the day. Amongst my many obsessions, I agonise over verticals (and horizontals) and this did not on first, second and third viewings, look right. However, there are several correct verticals in this general view of Loughborough featuring EWS Class 08 shunting mixed goods, two water towers (if you look closely) and semaphores.

BR Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 could be the poster child for the Great Central Railway. In spite of my earlier comments about locomotives in 'working condition', this looked just magnificent standing at Loughborough with King Arthur Class 4-6-0 777 'Sir Lamiel'.
