Snail Shadow (Mono Abstract) - 25 July 2015

Last evening, heavy rain brought the snails out on the march, setting off in all directions. I rather like snails; they seem to like walls. Today, it was time for me to play. I loved the pattern of the shell, the texture of the wall and the shadow. Before editing, the shadow, caused mainly by me and my camera, seemed to emanate inkily from the shell itself and a b&w treatment seemed to enhance the abstract nature of the image further.

I loved the pattern of the shell, the texture of the wall and the shadow. Some editing within my very limited ability brought out quite a lot of detail.

This is my final post of today from Whiteley. As with some of the other images, I was very taken by the defined shadow and its potential role in the composition. Too often, heavy shadows can be detrimental to a photograph. In this picture the shadow becomes a part of the whole without disrupting the main subject, one of two examples of the Vagabond game on display at Whiteley Shopping Centre.
