There was Hi-vis as far as the eye could see as intensive work took place on the approaches to platforms 8-15 of London Bridge during a blockade which was scheduled from 20 December 2014 - 4 January 2015. The Thameslink Programme is changing London Bridge for ever and is so large that disruptions to services will continue until 2018. 200_2_P1020217

The blockade of 20 December 2014 - 4 January 2015 contributed to rendering unrecognisable London Bridge station as part of the continuing programme of sweeping changes to improve north-south travel through London and improve capacity in the area. Seen from platform 4, the area viewed here is/was platforms 8-15 but these will eventually be renumbered. 200_2_P1020221

The journey to the future is a long and often hard one for rail passengers and nowhere more so than at London Bridge where disruption in the name of development will continue for at least three more years.
