Alexandra Palace is of great architectural interest but I viewed these pipes somewhat in the abstract. They are half way up a stairway from the theatre circulating area to entirely modern toilets which, presumably, have rather more modern plumbing. The state of the brickwork, which is not displeasing to the eye, appears to be consistent with the description of the theatre itself in posted notes, that being one of 'arrested decay'. I guess the definition of high definition was just a bit different in 1936. Nevertheless, this picture of a plaque at Alexandra Palace is an important part of the record of a very enjoyable visit. The building is of great architectural merit and the site, of course, of considerable historical significance. TZ30_P1050788CE

Ally Pally sign on the South Terrace of Alexandra Palace. This was, to the best of my recollection, my first visit. It is a fascinating sight and offers plenty to the photographer. TZ30_P1050777CE
