Two of the quartet were HMS Explorer (P164) and HMS Biter (P270) with appropriate bow markings. The pair are seen passing the Halifax-class frigate HMCS St John's where the crew are performing Procedure Alpha. I have a deep affection for Canada and was very happy to see that great nation represented at the 75th anniversary commemorations of D-Day. 5300_DSC_0203CE

As the peak evening, two boat, service drew to a close, The Gosport ferries Harbour Spirit (r) and Spirit of Gosport headed for Gosport and Portsmouth respectively. HMS Warrior makes an interesting background, reminding us of times long past. This was the evening of the departure of Fred Olsen Boudicca to Normandy with D-Day veterans aboard. Business continued almost uninterrupted in the harbour and by the time Boudicca sailed, ferry service was down to one vessel. 5300_DSC_0176E
