Locomotives from the 1960s and 1930s respectively still going strong in 2021. Class 37 6737 stabled at Buckfastleigh, South Devon Railway whilst 1366 class GWR 0-6-0PT 1369 busies itself with revenue work. TZ70_2_P1000053E

The railway scene at Eastleigh is in almost constant flux and the scenes presented to the photographer often change. Stuck on the outside the photographer in 2021 must accommodate the recently erected fence (recently in Eastleigh history). This little cameo features Arlington Fleet Services' Class 08 shunter 08567, still in EWS colours and Colas Class 37 37099. 200_4_P1010691CE

An end of zoom shot of Class 37 37612 at Eastleigh. The ceaseless variety at Eastleigh is wonderful, the obstacles to photographing it well, frustrating and some of the potential vantage points slightly hazardous due the nature of the local roads and driving habits. 200_4_P1000799E

Class 37 locomotive D6975, formerly 37275, at the Paignton shed of the Dartmouth Steam Railway. It was acquired from the South Devon Railway in 2018 in a swap for Class 25 D7535. As far as I know the Class 37 does not carry the D prefix. TZ70_P1020876E

GWR 4575 Class 2-6-2T 5552 and Class 37 37412 at Bodmin MPD, Bodmin & Wenford Railway. Volunteers were at work whilst the railway remains closed to the public during the coronavirus pandemic. 200_3_P1130103E

Large logo Class 37 37408 at Glasgow Queen Street. The inclusion of a Class 47 reminds us of a time when Queen Street, although a brighter station now, did not just host a dreary procession of multiple units. 880114_190288E

Class 37 locomotive 37036. Taken in the days when depots were many, usually had locomotives and when a courteous request to look round was usually met with a courteous and affirmative reply. Ayr Depot is a little to the south of Newton-on-Ayr station. This is the eighth in a series of rediscovered photographs being scanned during lockdown and, I hope, bringing as much joy to those thus confined as they do to me. 851618_161085E

Against a threatening sky, assorted locomotives and stock at Bo'ness looked pretty splendid. With a centrepiece of Class 20 20020, the picture includes a North British shunter and Class 37 37214 in fading maroon livery. TZ70_P1000829R

More than four years after my last visit to the Great Central Railway, it was worth braving persistent rain to provide an updated document of the state of preservation at Loughborough Central. Class 37 37714 'Cardiff Canton' has been beautifully repainted into Railfreight Grey (Metals Sector) providing a welcome reminder of the 1980s. 200_3_P1080989CE
