Maui, 2007, Chinese New Year. We joined a happy group at a local restaurant, had a great dinner, and then were entertained by some youth lion dancers. This woman is "feeding the lion", passing in money for good luck for the new year. The proceeds went to the youth organization.

We enjoyed our visit to Brugge, Belgium. We stopped at Cambrinus, which is a major beer cafe. This is their "house beer". Certainly made our walk through town much easier. Happy Table Tuesday, adds this, along with Tilley hat and beer. Hopefully a very nice combination!

Just one wonderful dessert experience on the cruise ship Prinsendam. Those little squiggles are filled with chocolate ganache.

Well, we are shut in. However, we were able to get out and get some In-N-Out burgers by going through the drive-thru. Fancy lunch, we put the burgers on plates. We could view the work areas in the roundhouse at Steamtown, Scranton, Pennsylvania, but mostly from above on a catwalk. Below, there were areas of active restoration for historic locomotives and rolling stock. Street scene in St. Johns, Newfoundland. Our cruise stopped for a Sunday in this lovely port. Nothing much was open, but later in the day the main street was jumping (screech anyone?) I really liked the paint job on the Commercial Chambers building. So these tables aren't in use, but they are ready. Didn't expect that I would be taking "street photographs", but the fellow on the left had some business or other here, so he became part of the street scene. Image processed with GIMP.

One of the stops we made on our tour of Trinidad was a scenic outlook. The local folks were selling various items. This stand had refreshing drinks, including freshly-cut coconuts. For Sunday Challenge, this shows some "street" consuming.

During our South America cruise in 2008, the cruise line went out of their way to have "special" nights in the main dining room. Each time, all new decorations were put up. Lakeside view of the Grandview Lodge, Priest Lake, Idaho. A recent check shows that this classic lodge has been permanently closed. Back in the day (2012, anyway), this was the type of rustic lodge people visited for a summer vacation. This picture was taken from the lake side. There were boats and a dock just behind us. And, yes, this beautiful location was visited by us, right after our Alaska trip. Image processed with GIMP.

Rather than a dinner table, this is a WORK table. These volunteers are using blenders to crush up flower petals and other botanicals. For dinner? Nope, to use as float decoration for the Pasadena Rose Parade. The rules of the Parade competition require that all of the float decoration be natural plant products. During our visit to this float preparation facility, we helped glue pistachio shells to a small part of one float. The amount of manual work required is astounding! Should you happen to attend, or just watch the Rose Parade on TV, keep in mind the army of volunteers who do these types of jobs, usually in the last 48 hours before the Parade. We attended the RV rally at the Winnebago factory for several years. The social and educational events took place under big tents, like this one. In this case, the people are getting ready to play Bingo (serious business!). Naturally, when playing Bingo, you need to have tables. This was our first Winnebago rally, 2010.
